Chicken kofteh recipe in the oven |
1 kg ground chicken breast 1 large onion, grated 1 bell pepper, finely diced (optional) 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 bunch parsley, finely chopped 1 egg 3 tablespoons breadcrumbs 1 tablespoon mixed spices (like Baharat or allspice) 1 teaspoon paprika Salt and black pepper to taste Vegetable oil
In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, grated onion, diced bell pepper (if using), minced garlic, chopped parsley, egg, breadcrumbs, mixed spices, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together very well with your hands until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined. Shape the mixture into kofta fingers (or patties) according to your preference. Arrange the kofta fingers in a baking tray lightly greased with oil. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Place the tray with the kofta in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 30 minutes, or until they are cooked through and golden brown.
You can place slices of tomato, onion, and bell pepper between the kofta fingers in the baking tray to add extra flavour and enhance the presentation. Serve the chicken kofta with white rice, pasta, or a fresh salad.
