Ingredients:
1 cup yogurt (preferably plain, unsweetened yogurt) ½ cup cold liquid milk (or slightly more depending on desired consistency) 1 tablespoon honey or sugar (optional, to taste) ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, enhances flavor) 3-4 ice cubes (optional, for a colder drink)
Electric blender
Place ingredients in the blender: Put the yogurt, milk, sweetener (honey or sugar if using), and vanilla (if desired) into the blender jar. Add ice (if desired): Add the ice cubes to the blender. Blend: Secure the lid tightly and blend on medium, then high speed for 30-45 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth and homogenous and the ice cubes are fully crushed (if used). Adjust consistency: Check the smoothie's consistency. If it's too thick for your liking, add a little more milk (a tablespoon at a time) and blend for a few seconds. If it's too thin, you can add another spoonful of yogurt or an extra ice cube and blend again.
Taste (if using sweetener): If you added honey or sugar, taste the smoothie to ensure the sweetness is right for you. Serve: Pour the plain yogurt smoothie into a glass and enjoy immediately.
For extra coldness: Ensure the yogurt and milk are very cold before starting. Greek yogurt: You can use Greek yogurt for a thicker consistency and higher protein content, but you might need to add slightly more milk to thin it out. No sweetener: You can omit the honey or sugar entirely for a healthier drink. The natural yogurt flavor with vanilla might be sufficient for some.
