Strawberry blender yogurt drink
Refreshing Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie This drink is perfect for a quick breakfast, a healthy snack, or even a delicious and refreshing dessert. Yield: Serves 1-2 people (depending on cup size) Ingredients: 1 cup strawberries (fresh, washed, and hulled, or frozen) 1 cup yogurt (plain, Greek, or any type you prefer - preferably unsweetened to control sweetness) ½ cup liquid milk (cow's milk, almond, oat, or any type you prefer - quantity can be increased or decreased depending on desired consistency) 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or sugar (optional, to taste and depending on strawberry sweetness) ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, but adds a nice flavor) 4-5 ice cubes (optional, especially if using fresh strawberries and the milk isn't very cold)
Equipment: Instructions: Prepare the strawberries: If using fresh strawberries, wash them well and remove the green tops (hull them). If the strawberries are large, you can cut them in half for easier blending. Place ingredients in the blender: Add the strawberries, yogurt, half the amount of milk (start with ½ cup), sweetener (honey or sugar if using), and vanilla (if desired) to the blender jar. Add ice (if needed): If using fresh strawberries or wanting a colder, thicker drink, add the ice cubes now. If using frozen strawberries, you might not need ice. Blend: Secure the lid tightly and start the blender on a medium speed for a few seconds, then increase to high speed. Blend for 30 to 60 seconds, or until the mixture is completely smooth and homogenous with no large fruit chunks. Adjust consistency: Check the smoothie's consistency. If it's too thick, gradually add more milk (a tablespoon at a time) and blend briefly until you reach the desired consistency. If it's too thin, you can add more strawberries (especially frozen ones), more ice, or even an extra spoonful of yogurt and blend again.
Taste and adjust: Taste the smoothie. If you want it sweeter, add more honey or sugar and blend for a few seconds to incorporate. Serve: Pour the strawberry yogurt smoothie into serving glasses immediately. You can garnish with a strawberry slice on the rim or a fresh mint leaf.
Tips and Variations: For added nutritional value: You can add a tablespoon of chia seeds, ground flax seeds, or a spoonful of nut butter (like almond butter). Add banana: Half a banana (especially if frozen) will give a creamier texture and natural sweetness. Using Greek yogurt: Provides a thicker consistency and increases the protein content. Controlling the color: The more strawberries you use, the deeper and more vibrant the color will be.
